Job Description

REQUIREMENTS: Trade Test Certificate in terms of provisions of the Manpower Training Act 1981 N2 Technical certificate. A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience as an Electrician. A valid driver’s license code 8 (EB). DUTIES: Exercise direct control and supervision over subordinates. Plan daily workloads and distribute accordingly. Report faults, job progress and completion of jobs on a daily basis. Timeous ordering of material. Liaise with stores regarding purchase and stock control. Perform standby duties and assist co-workers with call-out duties. Maintenance and minor repairs to all domestic appliances and equipment of the Hospital. Check and test emergency generators. Routine safety checks on all electrical appliances and distribution boards. Ensure optimal productivity and keeping of standards. To ensure that service providers comply with allocated contracts and to ensure that service is rendered at a satisfactory level. To ensure planning for projects in the institution and a plan of action for emergency maintenance tasks as well as ongoing maintenance.
