Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Grade12/ Matric, Diploma /Degree in Accounting. Must have completed a SAICA accredited training programme. Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in audit. Three (3) to five 5 years’ experience in preparing GRAP compliant AFS and compiling the audit file. Extensive knowledge and understanding of MFMA, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice, International Standards on Auditing and applicable municipal legislation. EB driving licence. Willingness and able to work over and above call of work and under pressure. KEY RESPONSIBILIES: Preparing GRAP Annual Financial Statements. Preparing the Accounting file as per Section 50 of the MFMA. Ensuring integrity of the data in the trial balance. Management of revenue, expenditure, assets, budget and reporting sections. Delivering plan for long term liquidity and alert to problems well in advance of adverse business impact. Providing support in capital budgeting and investment decision making. Effective management of internal and external audits. Full understanding of performance management and implementation thereof. Perform any other duty as may be assigned by competent authority.
