Job Description

Key Responsibilities: • Formulate and implement the total IT strategic plan, infrastructure and architecture plans, master systems plans (MSP), development and maintenance plans, financial plans, business continuity plans, risk and IT security plans. • Render Technical and IT Business advisory services – Business Solutions for Company business requirements and Technical Support to Business Initiatives and Projects at executive level. • Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs, which could include co-source and joint venture support activities and contracts management, etc. • Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape to provide expert consultation/advice on the structural management of the entire IT infrastructure. • Create overall technology standards, practices and oversee all system design and changes in systems architecture. • Lead the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships, internal client and external supplier relationships to manage Customer and Supplier Relations. • Ensure the efficient management and control of functions / resources in accordance with the stipulations of the PFMA, fraud prevention and risk management principles, corporate governance, legislation, company policies, processes, regulations, Delegation of Authority, etc. Minimum Requirements, Skills & Attitudes Qualifications: Master’s degree in Information Technology / Computer Science (NQF level 9). Experience: At least 8 – 10 years’ experience on senior management level in IT environment. ITIL and COBIT Certification is required. Knowledge and understanding of: • Technological trends to build strategies • Management of Corporate IT Service Provisioning with the Banking/ Telecommunication/ SOE Environment in terms of: – Application Support – Service Management – Infrastructure Management – ICT Asset and Equipment Management • ICT Production Management • Development and Implementation of Service Delivery and Service Delivery Refreshment Strategies • Architectural Review and Recommendation • Capacity Management • Data, BI – and Command Centre Management • ICT Architecture • Contract and Vendor Management • Data, BI and Command Centres • Organisational development, management techniques and good business practices • Legislative Frameworks • Service Desk Management • Change Management Methodologies • Risk and Compliance management • Value Chain Management Skills: Conflict resolution and/or mediation; Influencing and Negotiation; Financial Management skills, i.e. budgeting, cost benefit analysis and business case development; Advanced verbal and written communication, presentation and selling; Conceptualisation and integration; Decision making; Change management; Analytical Thinking and Research; Planning, coordination & implementation; Accurate numerical computations, analytical and overall quantitative; Infrastructure development methods; Infrastructure systems – Project Delivery Services Specific skills.
