Job Description

Communications Practitioner Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be required to develop and share material that will communicate what SANSA is about, to internal and external stakeholders across all disciplines of communication and multiple platforms. This role will require regular travel outside of Gauteng and working collaboratively with staff and external providers to achieve SANSA goals. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: A Bachelor degree or Diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Media Studies or Journalism 4+ years’ experience as Communications Practitioner Experience on digital and social media (Twitter/ FaceBook/ LinkedIn/ Hootsuite/ TikTok) is required Working knowledge on Publication Design, Word Press software as well as Microsoft Office package and content development on multiple platforms Photography skills will be advantageous Experience in Project and Event Management in a technical environment will be advantageous Excellent communication skills in all fields of Public Relations and Communications Ability to write reports, business correspondence and effectively present information A valid driver’s license. Key areas of responsibility will include but not limited to: Design and implement the Space Operations communications strategy and plan Align communications to overall SANSA and SO strategies Develop and implement annual calendar of communication initiatives Manage relationships with media Report on media monitoring. Enforce and monitor adherence of external and internal communications framework, policies and process Compile monthly and bi-annual newsletters to all stakeholders and clients regarding activities and the achievements of the organization. Plan and organize external conferences and events for stakeholders. Promote and manage the overall social media presence of SANSA, SO. Oversee and update all relevant communication platforms. Manage reputation of SANSA, SO across all communication platforms Review all internal communications to ensure messaging is aligned and speaks to required message Compile internal employees’ articles for publication. Manage updates and changes to website to ensure that content is in line with the brand. Market and drive the SANSA, SO brand into the market locally, regionally and internationally. Monitor the implementation of the brand ensuring that the correct corporate identity guidelines are adhered to. Proactively identify PR/ newsworthy opportunities for promotion of the organisation Design and compile promotional items and collateral. Identify and implement brand promotion opportunities. Manage external suppliers with regards to collateral design and production. Monitor and manage communications budget. Compile ad hoc, quarterly and annual reports on communication and business activities.
