Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 and a relevant three year post-matric qualification (NQF level 7) with two years relevant experience OR Matric with three to five years relevant experience; Proficiency in computer programmes/software packages e.g. Microsoft Office Suites – Word, Excel, Power Point; etc. ADDED ADVANTAGES: Administrative experience in a Higher Education environment as well as knowledge of student administration systems. KEY COMPETENCIES: Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills; Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and to adhere to and meet strict deadlines; Ability to work without supervision and to pay attention to detail; Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas: The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that educates the students across multiple disciplines including Accounting, Economics, Industrial Psychology (Human Resources Management), Information Systems, Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), Institute for Social Development, Political Studies, School of Business & Finance and School of Government (including Public Administration). The UWC Department of Industrial Psychology is accredited by the Health Professions Council of South Africa and offers modules to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Economic and Management Sciences and Arts Faculties. The Department of Industrial Psychology seeks to appoint a Departmental Administrator to assist with all departmental administrative procedures, in order to ensure alignment and compliance with central administrative systems and procedures. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following, amongst others: Academic Administration; Enquiry Management; Marketing & Recruitment; Marks Administration; Committee Administration; Financial Administration including budget administration and procurement; Event Organisation: Meeting Administration; Human Resources Administration; Reception Duties; General Administration and Reporting including office administration, assisting document management, liaising with service providers, e.g. Technical Services, Audio Visual Services, etc.
