Job Description

REQUIREMENTS : An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B- Degree or higher) in Financial Accounting, Financial Management or a related financial field; A minimum of 3 years management level experience within a Financial Accounting or similar environment. Recommendation: Experience in management and completion of financial statements. Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Public Finance Management Act; National and Provincial Treasury Regulations and Instructions; Public Service Act 1994 as amended; Public Service Regulations 2016; Proven computer literacy; Basic Accounting and Logistical Information Systems (BAS and LOGIS); Communication (written and verbal) skills; Ability to solve financial problems; Presentation skills; Deciding and initiating action; Leading and supervising skills; Applying expertise and technology; Analysing and reporting skills; Strategic planning skills. DUTIES : Manage recording of departmental revenue, expenditure and assets and liabilities from an accounting and legislative perspective; Direct and manage financial accounting reporting requirements; Management of the Financial Accounting Sub-Directorate
