Job Description

Key Responsibilities • Development, formulation, implementation, monitoring and revisions of Human Resources strategy / policy in?line with best practice, legislation and align it with the group strategy of SAPO in order to support business objectives for Organisational Management, Remuneration + Benefits, Recruitment + Selection, Employee Service Centre, Learning + Development, Employee Relations, Employee Wellness and Projects, etc.. • Ensure that union negotiations and related employee relations are in-line with best practices. Through progressive relationships with employee relationships, drive constant change and improvement in the group • Exercise a senior management leadership role beyond the confines of Human Resources • Involved in personnel matters arising from transformation and change management interventions, which includes union involvement, external stakeholders and shareholder communication in promoting current and future interventions • Evaluate and explore options for internal and external partnerships that will benefit the organisation financially • Ensure the efficient management, control and reporting of the function / resources in accordance with the stipulations of the PFMA, BCEA, fraud prevention and risk management principles, legislation, Corporate governance, Delegation of Powers, company policies, processes, regulations, etc. Minimum Requirements Skills & Attitudes • Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in the relevant field • 8 – 10 years’ of experience of which 5 on senior management level in a similar role (medium to large company) Knowledge and understanding of: • Greater environment in which an organisation exists • Customer / stakeholder relationship • Understanding of public affairs / public policy • Strategy development, deployment, planning and communications • Project management (principles, practices, techniques and tools) • Organisational development, management techniques and good business practices • Financial Management • Value Chain Management • Risk and Compliance management • Relevant statutes, rules and regulations Skills: Strategic thinker and able to work in a diverse and multi-cultural environment; Strong facilitation/negotiation/networking skills and trade unions; Technical skills in understanding system and processes and the inter-relationships; Conflict resolution and/or mediation; Influencing and Negotiation; Financial Management skills, i.e. budgeting, cost benefit analysis and business case development; Advanced verbal and written communication, presentation and selling; Conceptualisation and integration; Decision making; Change management; Analytical Thinking and Research; Ability to analyse complex problem situations and design effective remedial solutions; Planning, coordination & implementation; Accurate numerical computations, analytical and overall quantitative; Developing and delivering business strategy (e.g. Turnaround Strategy) skills.
