Job Description

Key performance areas: Ensure the integrity and effective administration of financial risk management processes Provide an end-to-end administrative service, ensuring efficient flow of information and effective use of resources Ensure timeous and effective resolution of administrative queries Manage allocated projects according to set project management standards, methodology, processes and tools Review and analyse the effectiveness of practices, processes and operational systems, identifying opportunities to improve on efficiencies Prepare and deliver detailed monthly, quarterly and annual reports as per set standards and requirements, legislation and regulations Establish and implement efficient work procedures and schedules that allow for optimisation and tracking of work and deliverables Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders, in order to promote cross-delivery practice solutions Engage with appropriate interventions to ensure own and team development The identification and definition of immediate, short and long-term objectives associated with the Compliance Legal Services and processed. The provision of input into preparation, monitoring and controlling of the annual legal budget Ensuring financial management The management and facilitation of the implementation of strategies, business plans, policies and procedures of Council structures and departments relating to the Compliance function The management and direction with regard to the implementation of decisions of Council, the Mayoral Committee and the departments requiring agreements with external parties The management of litigation against the City and its Municipal Owned Entities (MOEs) and ensuring that the best interest of the City is at all times protected The management over the drafting, review and amendment of by-laws
