JOB DESCRIPTION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Teaching-learning of Technology modules and all related organisational and management tasks. · Furthering of own qualifications (if applicable). Involvement in general research (e.g., publishing in accredited journals, presenting papers at conferences, etc.). · Be involved or initiate community engagement projects. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: · BEd Honours in technology or related field (for junior lecturer). · Relevant Master’s degree in technology or related field. · Initial teachers’ qualification. · Applicable Technology experience in secondary education or relevant related field (At least 2 years for lecturer). DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS · Teaching-learning experience in a tertiary institution in Technology Education. KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: · Capable to provide students with knowledge and skills regarding all elements related to Technology education in the South African context, with a focus on the GET, Senior phase or FET phase (Civil Technology, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design, Consumer Studies). · Experience and use of the Intermediate and Senior Phase CAPS or FET Phase (Civil Technology, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design, Consumer Studies). · Research experience. KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: · Continuous Learning (Better qualifications). · Collaborating with others (Be part of the Technology Subject Group). · Should be able to adapt in different modes of teaching (Online, Distance, Face-Face).
