Job Description

Job description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. RESEARCH – Preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars. Publishing of research articles. 2. TEACHING Conducting lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and student field excursions. 3. DEVELOPMENT AND SUPERVISION – Initiation and development of subject material. 4. ADMINISTRATION – Administering the submission of research proposals, appointment of moderators and examiners, etc. 5. DEVELOPMENT OF COURSE MATERIAL – Supervision of Honours students. Minimum requirements – Honours in Hydrology or Geohydrology. Membership with the SACNASP- desirable. 2 years’ experience in teaching experience. KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent skills in Hydrology or Geohydrology modelling. Mining process knowledge. KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work in a multicultural environment. Efficient time management skills, with respect for teaching, research and administration.
