Requirements: All applicants must have a Master of Science degree in Agricultural/Bioresources/Biosystems Engineering. In addition, the following apply: BSc (Eng.) degree in Agricultural/Bioresources/Biosystems/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or a closely related BSc engineering degree qualification Three (3) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution, Five (5) years of professional engineering practice or Five (5) years relevant experience in industrial/research environment. Registration as a professional engineer with ECSA or eligible for such registration will be added advantage. Duties and responsibilities Ensures that program taught comply with required academic and other standards by: Compiling lecture notes, study guides, practical manuals for approval Proposing prescribed books studying to remain up-to-date in own field Assists in evaluation of students’ academic progress and standing by preparing, assigning and marking tests, examinations, projects and essays Provides guidance/assistance to teaching assistants/demonstrators/technologists/technicians as required by monitoring their students’ progress Formally evaluate students’ progress/ academic standing: Participating in postgraduate and undergraduate design projects supervision. Enhance knowledge and skills in own field, to the benefit of University, students and/or staff Contributing to departmental administration and research. Participating in University community development programmes Preparing individual and joint/collaborative project proposals, leading/conducting approved projects, and participating in outside development projects. Ensure continuous personal and professional development to remain relevant and current in teaching and learning activities and supervise engineering students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
