Key performance areas include but are not limited to: • Teaching and coordinating subjects as delegated by the head of department • Providing academic support to learners and dealing with related teaching management tasks • Engaging in relevant research projects • Participate in Faculty and Departmental community projects • Liaising with industry and other stakeholders to improve the quality and standard of services delivered and keeping abreast of developments in the relevant fields • Managing personal, department, academic administration • Coordinating and conducting formative and summative assessment of clinical learning • Attending various departmental and faculty meetings • Attend to full time classes as well as part time classes where a need arises • Developing study material for students, including review of learner guides • Site visits to students placed in clinical learning facilities • Self-development through research, publications and presentations at conferences Qualification and Experience: • Currently registered with the HPCSA Technologist • Masters in Molecular Biology or relevant field • Five (5) years’ experience as a registered Technologist • Relevant research experience will be an added advantage Skills and Competencies: • Ability to work under pressure, deadline driven and multi-tasking • Fully computer literate
