Job Description

Main purpose of position The Purpose of this job is to ensure the alignment of content between traditional and digital platforms as well as to recommend the development of new digital platforms which are aligned to the SABC’s OTT Strategy, in line with differentiated audience needs to enhance revenue streams for the SABC. Key Accountabilities Develop and implement the Radio Digital Media Strategy as input into the Corporate Digital Media & OTT Strategy and Radio Strategy. Conduct Benchmarking within the Radio Digital Media & OTT environments to effect best practise and business improvement. Ensure alignment of content between traditional and digital media platforms in line with the audience needs. Manage the implementation of Radio Digital Media & OTT strategy. Develop a Digital Media & OTT operational plan. Manage vendor relationships, contracts and service providers by working through SABC Procurement Services. Comply with business reporting cycles Oversee national radio digital & OTT content and digital marketing efforts Develop and maintain systems and processes to enable the achievement of the business objectives. Monitor and report on operational risks and compliance. Implement internal control measures to ensure good governance and compliance. Oversee the management of Operational risks to protect organisational integrity, create value, prevent financial loss and ensure compliance with applicable policies and legislations. Monitor execution of internal risk audits and address gaps and provide execution of mitigation strategies. Evaluate all business plans in the context of compliance to Radio guidelines and policies. Create awareness of digital & OTT platforms with advertisers and relevant ad agencies. Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, in order to ensure optimal delivery on alternative revenue streams. Develops and incorporates best practice people management processes, approaches and tools across finance departments. Creates processes to ensure accountability for people management and development. Develops comprehensive, integrated strategies and approaches to managing human resources and adaptive leadership style Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies or equivalent qualification NQF 7 6 Years’ experience in digital media or IT specialist fields of which 3 years should be at supervisory level. Any formal qualification in the field of Digital Media and Marketing would be an advantage Business planning and complexity theory Budget management and forward scenario planning PFMA and relevant national treasury regulations Strategic management Management information systems Financial accounting standards Scenario planning and Trend analysis Project management Understanding of applicable legislative frameworks and regulations
