Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Matric/ Grade 12 certificate. Diploma / Degree in ICT / Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Information Technology. A minimum of 5 year relevant experience of which 3 years must be at supervisory level. A valid Code B Driving Licence. Strategic capacity and knowledge of turning around an ICT environment of an organisation. Flair for working with and capacitating ICT services end-users. Certificate in ITIL or COBIT will be added advantage. IT Project Management will be an added advantage. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Experience and understanding of compliance requirements, e.g. MCGICT, Mscoa, POPI, and King IV. Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services, systems and network administration. Experience in planning and budgeting. Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security. Experience in development and implementation of ICT strategies and business solutions and managing IT budget. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and lead the Municipality’s ICT services. Formulate, review and implement the Municipality’s ICT turnaround strategy and disaster recovery plan. Budget, manage and monitor ICT expenditure. Oversee the overall functioning of the Municipality’s ICT machinery and systems. Direct and control ICT services maintenance cycle. Provide custodianship and management of ICT Services contacts or agreements. Perform any other duty as may be assigned by competent authority.
