Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is a vibrant, diverse and dynamic university, rooted in the African continent with an increasing global reach. The Infrastructure and Engineering Department plays a pivotal role in the maintenance and improvement of the Universitys infrastructure. We seek to employ a skilled, knowledgeable and resourceful individual. Reporting to the Foreman: Carpentry; the appointees duties will include, but not be limited to the below and execution of the following tasks: Assisting an artisan in the execution of his duties Keep work area & equipment clean at all times Be able to work with the minimum of supervision Proven record of regular work attendance Minimum Requirements Consequently you essentially require: A Grade 12/ Matric and at least 2 years sound experience in carpentry Must have been exposed to the principles of carpentry Must have experience in the use and handling of power tools It is a requirement to work standby and call out emergency duties A Technical qualification (N1) or similar will be an added advantage
