Job Description

Are you dynamic, motivated and passionate about developing high-quality system solutions? Apply your technical skills and software development experience in the Systems Development team within the Systems Division. The team is responsible for all software development required for the University’s systems, which include PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, SAP Finance and HR, Business Objects data warehouse and a number of Microsoft SQL–based systems. The team works closely with the Production Support team and other ICTS staff. Responsibilities include: designing, documenting, developing, testing and delivering new and revised functionality and systems integration. managing projects with limited UCT impact. providing third level support to production systems. ensuring quality of developed functionality. remaining current in relevant products and tools and the ability to elicit, document and convert stakeholder requirements into technical specifications. Key deliverables include: System developments and enhancements. Delivery of projects within an assigned area. Minimum requirements include: A relevant IT related tertiary qualification at NQF level 7 with at least 5 years of relevant systems development experience, or level NQF6 with 6 years of relevant systems development experience. At least three years of relevant systems development experience using the PeopleSoft development tools (PeopleTools Application Designer, SQL, SQR, Cobol and BI Publisher), ideally in the Campus Solutions environment Experience in the following would be Advantageous: Familiarity with and a good understanding of PeopleSoft Campus solution product. Relevant certification (PeopleSoft certifications)
