Position Details

Position: Professional Nurse Specialty (Advanced Midwifery)
Ref No: QAD-01/2023 (X3 POSTS)
Location: KZN Health Qadi Clinic
Salary:

  • Grade 1: R431,265 per annum
  • Grade 2: R528,696 per annum
    Other Benefits: 13th cheque, Homeowner’s allowance (employee must meet prescribed requirements), Medical Aid (Optional), and 8% rural allowance.

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Degree/Diploma in general nursing and Midwifery or equivalent qualification allowing SANC registration
  • One-year post basic qualification in Advanced Midwifery accredited with the SANC
  • Certificate of service endorsed by your Human Resource Department (only shortlisted candidates)

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required

  • Knowledge of nursing care processes, relevant legal frameworks, and statutes
  • Leadership, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Interpersonal skills, public relations, negotiating, conflict handling, and counseling
  • Financial and budgetary knowledge
  • Computer skills in basic programs

Duties

  • Provide specialized nursing care within professional legal frameworks
  • Ensure clinical nursing practice aligns with the Scope of Practice and nursing standards
  • Implement activities for the improvement of women’s health
  • Identify and manage high-risk clients during antenatal and post-natal periods
  • Implement antenatal care programs to enhance care for pregnant women
  • Integrate HAST programs in O&G departments within the facility
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping for statistical purposes
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control practices
  • Participate in training, monitoring, and research to enhance midwifery practice
  • Assist in planning and coordinating training for nursing categories
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and norms
  • Promote discipline, professionalism, and work ethics among employees
