To update your SASSA banking details, you can easily do so online within five minutes. The process allows beneficiaries to switch their payment method to a SASSA debit card or opt for a cardless payment option. By following a simple step-by-step guide on the SASSA SRD web portal, applicants can enter their identity (ID) number, receive an OTP for verification, and submit their new banking information. Changing Your SASSA Banking Details Online

  1. Visit the SASSA SRD website.
  2. Choose the appropriate section based on your ID status.
  3. Click on “How do I change my banking details?”.
  4. Enter your ID number and click “Submit”.
  5. You will receive an OTP via SMS. Enter the OTP and click “Verify Pin”.
  6. Click the secure link in the message you receive.
  7. Choose your bank and enter your account details. You can also choose to receive your grant via cash send or at Pick n Pay, Boxer, Shoprite, Checkers, or Usave.
  8. Once you have submitted your updated information, SASSA will verify it and update your payment method.

Changing Your Banking Details in Person

  1. Visit your nearest SASSA office.
  2. Take a copy of your ID document and your bank statement with you.
  3. Fill out a change of banking details form.
  4. Submit the form to a SASSA representative.
  5. Your SASSA banking details will be updated within 5 working days.
