Driver Job Description
As a driver at Wits RHI, your primary responsibility will be to transport patients and clinical staff between various destinations. Additionally, you will be tasked with collecting and delivering documents, ensuring that all transport and delivery duties adhere to the organisation’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that vehicles are well-maintained and clean at all times.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks and report any faults or necessary repairs.
- Drive safely and considerately, keeping in mind other road users.
- Ensure timely reporting of any accidents or vehicle issues.
- Liaise with management to determine daily transportation schedules.
- Complete vehicle usage forms accurately as per organisational policies.
- Confirm that patients have their files before transportation.
- Transport patients safely and comfortably between destinations.
- Provide transportation for staff, particularly for home visits.
- Collect and deliver important documents and goods to various locations.
- Follow all traffic laws and road safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks and other duties as required by management.
- Take accountability for assigned tasks, maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
- Foster a positive attitude and remain open to feedback and improvement.

Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates must have:
- Minimum Education and Training: A Grade 12 certificate (basic numeracy and literacy) and a valid South African driver’s license (Code 08 or Code 10).
- PDP (Professional Driving Permit): This is mandatory for candidates who wish to apply.
Desirable Skills and Personal Attributes
