    Administrative Officer Job Purpose

    The primary role of the Administrative Officer is to ensure the efficient and timely processing of sundry and one-time vendor invoices and to manage the printing of cheques for payments on behalf of the City of Tshwane. This position requires adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, ensuring all financial transactions are accurate and properly documented.

    Responsibilities

    1. Verify and Process Creditor Payments: Ensure all vendor payments are verified, processed correctly, and in a timely manner.
    2. Interact with Departments and Vendors: Work closely with other departments and vendors to resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
    3. Execute Reconciliations: Regularly perform reconciliations to ensure the City of Tshwane’s financial records match vendor records.
    4. Conduct Record-Keeping and Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of all transactions and perform various administrative tasks to support the financial services department.

    Requirements

    To be considered for this Administrative Officer position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Education: Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Accounting.
    • Experience: At least six months of relevant working experience in administrative support services.
    • Vetting: Candidates must undergo vetting.
    • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer use is essential.
