Purpose of the Legal Secretary Role
As a Legal Secretary (High Court), you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Services Department. Your responsibilities will ensure the smooth operation of office activities, supporting attorneys and ensuring high levels of confidentiality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Secretarial Administration
- Draft court statements and forms required for court proceedings.
- Transcribe and proofread legal documents.
- Prepare and update pleadings, discovery binders, and court files.
- Assist attorneys with legal research and communication.
- Handle the collection and delivery of legal documents.
Standard, Process, and Procedure Maintenance
- Ensure alignment with internal standards and policies.
- Provide administrative support following RAF’s strategy and procedures.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain and update written policies and documentation.
- Ensure organizational activities adhere to quality standards.
Office Management
- Handle correspondence, filing, and telephonic queries.
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Monitor departmental stationery and office supplies.
Meeting and Diary Management
- Arrange meetings, take minutes, and follow up on resolutions.
- Manage diaries for the Legal Services team and schedule stakeholder appointments.
Document Control
- Keep filing systems functional and updated.
- Manage retrieval and confidentiality of legal documents.
- Update and distribute court rolls and directives.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: National Diploma in Business Administration or a Law-related qualification.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a business or law administration role.

- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of RAF systems and legal procedures.
