eLearning Graduate Internship Programme Overview
Contract Period:
- 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2027
This will be a fixed contract, offering you the chance to gain experience over a two-year period.
Remuneration:
- A monthly stipend of R 7,860.50 (depending on your qualification and experience).

Available Internship Placements
Interns can be placed in one of the following fields within the eLearning Directorate or CD: BIM (Business Intelligence Management):
- DEL 001 Digital Content
This placement focuses on software and web development, information management, data analysis, office management, technology, and project management. - DEL 002 Digital Marketing
Interns will gain experience in marketing, communication, social media management, digital marketing, graphic design, and illustrative design. - DEL 003 eLearning
This involves supporting eLearning projects at WCED Head Office, District Offices, or even schools, with a focus on administrative duties related to eLearning, project management, and technology support. - CD: BIM (Business Intelligence Management)
Interns will work on data analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, and other data-related tasks.
Requirements
The eLearning Graduate Internship Programme is open to South African youth between the ages of 20 and 34 who have successfully completed a 3-year diploma or degree at NQF levels 6 or 7. Specific qualifications for each internship stream are as follows:
- DEL 001 (Digital Content):
Candidates with a diploma or degree in software/web development, information management, data analysis, office management & technology, or project management. - DEL 002 (Digital Marketing):
Candidates with a diploma or degree in marketing, communication, social media, digital marketing, graphic design, or illustrative design. - DEL 003 (eLearning):
Candidates with a diploma or degree in office management & technology, public administration, management, information management, or data analysis. - CD: BIM:
Candidates with a degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
Requirements for Applicants
In addition to meeting the qualifications for the specific internship placement, candidates must also meet the following requirements:
- Be between the ages of 20 and 34.
- Have completed a relevant 3-year diploma or degree (NQF level 6 or 7) in one of the specified fields.
- Be proficient in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
- A valid driver’s license will be advantageous (but not mandatory).
- Ability to provide own transport to work (relocation costs will be the candidate’s responsibility).

- Computer Literacy: A high level of competency in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the Internet.

Job Responsibilities
Interns will assist with a variety of tasks depending on their placement:
- DEL 001 Digital Content:
- Assist in software development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to work on user testing for new and existing projects.
- DEL 002 Digital Marketing:
- Provide support for social media and content design and management.
- Help with data analysis and project management in eLearning capacity building.
- DEL 003 eLearning:
- Provide administrative support to the eLearning projects.
- Help manage databases, answer phone inquiries, and organize conference rooms or training venues.
- Assist project managers with data collection and tracking performance.
- CD: BIM:
- Work on data analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
- Help with data mining, pattern recognition, and other data-related tasks.
