The Role: Human Resources Practitioner
As a Human Resources Practitioner, you will be expected to provide a comprehensive and integrated HR advisory service to a designated client base. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Workforce Planning
- Co-developing Client-Specific Staff Plans: Your role will include co-developing specific plans to improve staff retention, implement succession planning, and foster staff mobility.
- Monitoring Employment Equity: Keeping track of the Employment Equity plan to ensure inclusivity and alignment with university policies.
- Staff Engagement: Building a deep understanding of your client base through ongoing engagement, allowing for informed HR decision-making.
Recruitment & Selection
- Sourcing High-Calibre Candidates: You will lead recruitment efforts by advising on sourcing candidates who can fulfil the strategic HR needs of the university.
- Ensuring Accurate Appointments: Overseeing the accuracy of the recruitment process in accordance with Labour Legislation, the Code for Employment Equity, and the university’s policies.
Advisory Services & Consultation
- Providing HR Statistics and Insights: Use HR statistics to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
- Consulting on HR Procedures: Advising on processes related to recruitment, appointments, onboarding, and offboarding to ensure smooth operation.
- Supporting Change Management: Offering guidance on HR processes during change management situations.
Client Engagement & Service Delivery
- Building Effective Relationships: Establishing and nurturing relationships with various stakeholders to integrate best HR practices into everyday operations.
- Collaboration Across HR Functions: Proactively working with different HR functional areas (such as Remuneration and Benefits, Employee Relations, etc.) to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Ad-Hoc Tasks
- Project Goals: Completing project goals successfully as agreed.
- Human Resources Administration: Performing various HR administration duties as necessary.
Key Job Requirements
