- Assistant Artisan (Electrical)
Salary: R243,380.94 to R315,930.66 per annum (Task Grade 09, Provisional)
Notice: HR13/2025 Qualifications and Experience:- A Grade 12 certificate with a minimum N3 technical qualification in Electrical Engineering and Trade test.
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant electrical experience, preferably in a local government environment.
- The ability to work with high-voltage systems as per regulations.
- Good interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work shifts, standby duties, and in all weather conditions.
- A valid Code C1 driver’s license.
- Conduct electrical repairs and maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage networks.
- Perform tasks such as M.V joints and cable end terminations.
- Assist with the maintenance of electrical supplies.
- Ensure safety and productivity within the team.
- Oversee the safety of equipment and vehicles.
- Senior Handyman (Electrical)
Salary: R192,000.83 to R249,222.75 per annum (Task Grade 07, Provisional)
Notice: HR14/2025 Qualifications and Experience:- Minimum Grade 10 and a valid CI driver’s license.
- Relevant trade qualifications or proven self-trained skills.
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work shifts and standby duties in all weather conditions.
- Perform electrical maintenance and installation tasks.
- Transport equipment and personnel to work sites.
- Assist in the construction and repair of low and medium voltage systems.
- Interpret drawings and works orders detailing layout and specifications.
Additional Requirements for Both Positions:
- Competency Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate core professional competencies, functional competencies, public service orientation competencies, and personal competencies as outlined in the Government Gazette.
