Requirements
- Completion of Grade 10 education or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in the respective field.
- Proficiency in using various tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
- Replace worn-out or faulty components such as light bulbs, switches, and outlets.
- Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical problems.
- Provide support during urgent repairs to ensure minimal disruption to healthcare services.
- Be on standby for emergency call-outs and after-hours repair work.
- Help install new electrical machinery and equipment according to safety standards.
- Modify existing electrical installations to accommodate new systems or improvements.
- Work closely with senior electricians and engineers to ensure installations are completed correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas.
- Dispose of waste materials and used components responsibly.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
- Manage the inventory of tools and materials required for electrical tasks.
- Prepare and organize tools and materials for specific jobs ahead of time.
- Coordinate with the supply team to replenish stock as needed.
- Provide assistance to skilled artisans in complex tasks and projects.
- Follow instructions and work collaboratively with the team to achieve goals.
- Learn and develop new skills under the guidance of experienced artisans.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Document and report the condition of electrical systems after each maintenance check.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and checklists diligently.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Update maintenance logs and submit reports to the supervisor as required.
- Assist in creating and updating electrical system documentation.
- Work closely with other departments such as plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance.
- Coordinate efforts to address multi-disciplinary maintenance tasks.
- Share information and resources to enhance overall facility maintenance.
- Suggest improvements to maintenance processes and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Contribute to achieving department goals and objectives.
