Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience: Appropriate administrative experience in a Human Resources, Employee Relations, Human Resource Development, Employee Health and Wellness, or office administration environment.
- Inherent requirements of the job: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee information.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good knowledge of general office administration and records management practices.
- Sound computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Public Service Act, Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act and relevant departmental policies will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with employee information.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
Duties
- Provide administrative support to the Employee Relations function, including scheduling meetings, maintaining confidential records, preparing documentation and taking minutes.
- Coordinate administrative activities relating to Human Resource Development, including training administration, induction, maintaining training records and compiling reports.
- Provide administrative support for Employee Health and Wellness programmes, including coordinating wellness activities, maintaining attendance registers, statistics and confidential records.
- Maintain manual and electronic filing systems, registers, databases and tracking tools.
- Prepare routine correspondence, reports, procurement requests and meeting arrangements.
- Provide reception, telephonic and administrative support to the People Management component.
- Provide administrative relief support within the broader People Management component when required.
