Requirements
- Basic R425 qualification Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse General.
- Minimum of 9 years after registration as a Professional Nurse, at least 4 years’ appropriate recognizable experience must be at Management Level.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding and application of Nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
- Knowledge of PFMA, HR Management.
- Knowledge of Public Sector Legislation and relevant Prescript/Regulation, Batho Pele Principles and patient Right Charter.
- Strong leadership, good interpersonal relations, effective problem-solving, management and decision-making skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential requirements.
- A valid driver’s license.
Duties
- To manage and provide strategic Nursing leadership and direction to the Nursing Services.
- Plan and monitor the objectives of the specialised unit in line with the strategic plan of the institution and the department.
- Coordinate and maintain conducive/constructive working relationships with Nursing and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with professional and ethical practice.
- Monitor and ensure nursing care is practised in accordance with the statutory law, policies and procedures governing the Nursing Profession, Labour and Health Care.
- Effective management and utilisation of Human and Material Resources.
- Ensure effective implementation of PMDS.
- Monitor compliance to Quality Assurance and Infection Control and Occupational Health and Safety standards and National Core Standards Compliance.
- Ensure efficient and effective execution of administration functions of the Nursing unit.
