Requirements
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) PLUS.
- Degree/ diploma in General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatric and Community Nursing Science that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A Degree/Diploma in Nursing Education registered with the SANC.
- A Degree/Diploma Health Service Management/Nursing Administration registered with the SANC.
- A minimum of nine (9) years appropriate/recognizable experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
- A minimum of five (5) years of the above period must be appropriate/recognizable experience in the Nursing Education as a Lecturer in a recognizable Nursing Education Institution.
- Applicants must submit a fully completed Z83 form and a detailed CV only, all other documents including any proof is submitted by shortlisted candidates.
- Certificate of service endorsed by Human Resource Department.
- In possession of an unendorsed valid RSA Drivers Licence (Code EB).
- Knowledge, Skills, Training and Competence Required: In depth knowledge of Nursing Education programmes within the College.
- Possess knowledge of the relevant legislation Acts, Prescripts and Policy framework within the area of operation.
- Have excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and presentation skills.
- In depth knowledge of nursing education programmers and curriculum.
- Proficiency in teaching and assessment in nursing education including evaluation approaches.
- Knowledge of policy development, interpretation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Sound conflict and decision making/problem solving skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Good research and analytical skills.
- Good managerial and interpersonal skills.
Duties
- Co-ordinate provision of education and training of student nurses.
- Manage clinical learning exposure of students between college and clinical area.
- Oversee supervision of students.
- Collaboration with other stake holders and build a sound relationship within the department.
- Supervise and Coordinate the clinical supervision of student including teaching, learning and assessment Nursing Education programmes in the Campus.
- Develop and ensure implementation of quality assurance programmes.
- Collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders and build a sound relationship within the Department.
- Participate in policy development and analysis.
- Development and review of nursing curricula for all categories of training.
- Implements the new nursing programs in line with SANC and CHE regulations.
- Participate in the provisioning of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities at the Campus.
- Participate in all governance structures of the College.
- Support the mission and promote the image of the College.
- Exercise control over students.
- Implement employee management and development systems.
- Maintain all clinical records and reports for students and staff.
