Requirements
- Education:
- Grade 12
- Certificate/Diploma in Chef qualifications
- Work Experience:
- At least two years of experience in a similar position
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong culinary and costing skills
- Computer literacy and knowledge of hospital catering
- Understanding of ingredients and seasonings
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and understanding)
- Skills in plating design
- Ability to work with a wide range of kitchen equipment

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all meals are prepared with the highest quality standards.
- Supervise the entire cooking process from ingredient selection to final presentation.
- Adjust and modify recipes as needed to meet patient dietary requirements and preferences.
- Adhere strictly to standard recipes to maintain consistency in taste and quality.
- Regularly review and update recipes to reflect seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Monitor portion sizes and presentation to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
- Develop and implement a production schedule to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery.
- Plan menus that offer variety and meet the nutritional needs of patients and staff.
- Coordinate with the dietitian to ensure all meals meet dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines.
- Implement and enforce strict hygiene and sanitation protocols in the kitchen.
- Conduct regular training sessions on food safety and sanitation for all kitchen staff.
- Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
