Requirements
- An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree or higher qualification;
- A minimum of 1-year relevant experience.
- Competencies: Knowledge and understanding of the following: The ability to execute design trends; ability to use design software including Adobe Creative Suite; social media marketing trends and principles; working experience with the legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices that have a bearing on the line functions; information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function; project management; operational management practices; modern systems of governance and administration; public service procedures, processes and systems; understanding of the regional and local political, economic, and social affairs impacting the provincial government of the Western Cape; constitutional and legal arrangements governing the South African public sector; public finance and human resources discourse management processes; understanding of Communication policies and guidelines; functioning of the Province and the activities of sister departments/related functional areas; policies of the government of the day; labour relations legislation and regulations; performance management in general.
Duties
- Develop and implement internal and external communication campaigns and products in support of departmental strategic priorities.
- Updating the departmental website.
- Develop, monitor and enhance the Department’s corporate identity and brand.
- Media Liaison and Public Relations Support.
- Communication Strategy and Stakeholder Relations.
