Requirements
- A recognised NQF 6 qualification Tourism Management or Social Studies.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience in a related environment.
- Knowledge of domestic tourism environment.
- Understanding of Social Tourism as a tourism concept;
- Tourism and related industry policies e.g.
- Domestic Tourism Growth Strategy, Social Tourism as tourism concept and guidelines;
- Public sector governance instruments.
- Supply Chain/procurement policies.
- InterGovernmental Relations.
- Strategic partners in Social Tourism.
- Project/event management.
- Strong networking and stakeholder management.
- Professional presentation skills.
- Report writing.
- Database management.
- Desktop research.
- Communication skills.
- A valid driver’s licence (Persons with disabilities that prevent them from driving will still be considered).
Duties
- The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the development and implementation of action plans to support strategy implementation, aligned to national objective;
- Coordinating the alignment of Domestic Tourism strategies and tourism sectoral strategies;
- Assisting in identifying the implementation mechanisms of tourism sector strategies;
- Developing progress reports on the implementation of tourism strategies;
- Assisting in the facilitation of impact assessment and reporting;
- Conducting and facilitate impact assessment workshops;
- Contributing to the implementation of the Domestic Tourism Growth Strategy to track and advise on the line implications;
- Facilitating continuous reporting on the progress of Social Tourism growth programme;
- Conducting Social partners Stakeholder Engagements;
- Participating in the implementation of the Departments Stakeholder Relations management Strategy for the public and private sector;
- Facilitating the development of a comprehensive and reliable stakeholder contact management system for the Department;
- Conducting stakeholder engagements;
- Facilitating the development and maintenance of a stakeholder database for the Department;
- Providing administrative support in the establishment of strategic partnerships to support and promote Social Tourism initiatives;
- Participating in the identification of relevant sector Departments for coordination in support of Social Tourism;
- Facilitating the schedule of external stakeholders’ activities including relevant stakeholder fora, meetings, event and conferences to ensure participation of the identified partners;
- Contributing to the drafting of a stakeholder consultation framework with regards to Social Tourism development interventions;
- Administering the implementation of interventions to improve access to tourism experiences and information for people from designated groups i.e.
- Senior Citizens, the indigent, Women and Youth;
- Conducting the dissemination of tourism information to the public including the relevant policies and regulatory frameworks;
- Updating the tourism information database to validate the information provided to the public ;
- Follow up on requests for information to ensure satisfactory response;
- The rendering of general secretariat and logistical support services;
- Arranging and provide secretariate support to management and other meetings in the branch;
- Taking note during specific senior management and related meetings;
- Compiling and submit minutes and agendas;
- Reporting on the progress of implementation and on projects.

- Application must include a Z83 form and CV only. The electronic application must be in PDF format and made up of a single document file. Indicate the correct job title and the reference number of the post on the subject line of your email.

- Candidates will further be subjected to a personnel suitability check (criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification, and employment verification). Some of the interviewed candidates for Senior Management level vacancies may be subjected to a 2-day competency assessment that will test generic competencies. Appointment validity will be conditional to signing of the employment contract, performance agreement, and annual financial disclosure, and must attain a security clearance (vetting) applicable to the post.
