Requirements

  • Senior Certificate/Matric (Grade 12) MBCHB Degree or equivalent qualification Current registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Experience in Occupational Health Knowledge, Skills, Training and Competences Required: Sound Clinical knowledge and skills in Internal Medicine and general medicine.
  • Ability to undertake supervision, teaching and training of undergraduate students.
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to communicate professionally with staff, students and patients, always conduct oneself in a professional manner; sound ethical values; strong work ethic and the ability to work with commitment individually as well as under supervision.
  • Knowledge and skills to initiate and PUBLIC support community outreach services.
  • Administrative skills to ensure efficient running of a clinical unit.
  • Computer literacy.

Duties

  • The provision of promotive and preventive services as per District Health Care package of services taking into consideration the burden of disease of the community that is served by the Facility.
  • Use of clinical algorithms as per Clinical Guidelines for the management of chronic noncommunicable and chronic communicable diseases such as HIV, AIDS, TB and other minor ailments.
  • Give in-service training and support to other health care professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with the Essential Medicine List (EML).
  • Compliance with clinical governance requirements, such as appropriate record keeping and referral.
  • Manage data and information as required by the department.
  • Work towards achieving departmental performance targets.
  • Participate in the implementation of quality improvement programmes, including the Ideal Hospital Realisation and Maintenance (IHRM) framework.
  • Ensure that infection control and health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain client satisfaction through quality service, innovation and medical care by upholding the principles of Batho Pele and Patient Right and Responsibilities.
  • NB Participation in commuted overtime is compulsory.
  • Overtime will be performed in family medicine / Accident &
  • Emergency / Anaesthetics department.
