Requirements
- Senior Certificate/Matric (Grade 12) An appropriate qualification in the health science: MBCHB plus current registration with HPCSA, as a Medical Specialist in Family medicine.
- Foreign candidates require (1) year relevant experience after registration as a Medical Specialist with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council of whom it is not required to perform Community Service Community Service experience is excluded Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist.
- Knowledge, Skills, Training And Competencies Required: Clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to that of a specialist family physician, Interpersonal skills: Clinical and administrative decision-making Leadership and good communication skills Computer literacy.
Duties
- Manage medical inpatients and outpatients and staff clinic in the hospital.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate clinical services to ensure quality assurance and conduct clinical audits.
- Conduct Morbidity/ Mortality reviews and clinical audits.
- Manage Complaints and Patient Safety incidents in line with the National guidelines.
- Reduce waiting times in OPD.
- Manage information and ensure performance indicator targets are met.
- Provide clinical supervision to medical officers, medical interns and medical students Manage data/ information and work towards achieving HAST performance targets.
- Participate in the implementation of quality improvement programmes, including the Ideal Hospital Realisation and Maintenance (IHRM) framework.
- Ensure that infection control and health and safety standards are maintained PUBLIC at all times.
- Ensure proper management of COT/call roster, leave and attendance register of staff allocated to family medicine.
- Ensure proper management of resources such as laboratory services, blood services through laboratory and blood usage committee.
- To initiate, monitor and evaluate community health outreach to our feeder health facilities on continuous basis Engage in the academic programme for staff.
- N.B: Participation in commuted overtime is compulsory.
- Overtime will be performed in family medicine/Accident &
- Emergency/Anaesthetics department.
