Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
- Registration with a Professional Council: Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
- Experience: Grade 1: None.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ appropriate/ recognisable experience after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant.
- Inherent requirements of the job: Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and night duty as well as overtime when necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to rotate between Wards according to Operational needs.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to function / make decisions independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good communication and interpersonal relationships.
- Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation, policies and protocols of the Department of Health, Western Cape.
- Ability to accept accountability and responsibility.

- Provide elementary clinical nursing care.
- Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and selfdevelopment.
