Requirements
- Diploma / B Degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse with Midwifery.
- Registration with SANC as Professional Nurse with Midwifery.
- Current SANC receipt.
- Grade 1: No experience.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate /recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate /recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing.
- Knowledge, Skills, Training and Competences Required: Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, and other relevant legal frameworks.

Duties
- Provide directions and supervision for the implementation of the nursing plan (clinical practice/quality patient care.
- Implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality nursing (quality of practice).
- Practice nursing and health care in accordance with the laws and regulations relevant to nursing and health care.
- Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders.
- Utilise human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
- Provide comprehensive, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care including deliveries and management of obstetric emergencies.
- Perform physical assessments, diagnose and treat common health problems in line with scope of practice and PHC guidelines.
- Manage Maternal, Child and Women’s Health programmes, EPI, Family Planning.
- Provide HIV, TB, STI and NCD management and ensure adherence to 95/95/95 targets.
- Triage patients, refer appropriately, and follow up on defaulters and untraceable clients.
- Maintain patient hygiene, nutrition, mobility and elimination needs.
- Measure, interpret and record vital signs accurately.
- Ensure infection prevention and control measures are implemented.
- Promote patient-centered care to reduce complaints, PSIs and waiting times.
- Participate in outreach services and community health education.
- Support NHI and PHC re-engineering initiatives in the rural community.
- Work with CHWs and other stakeholders to improve access in rural areas.
- Maintain accurate patient records, registers and data capturing.
- Ensure cost-effective use of equipment, stock and resources.
- Report losses/damages.
- Supervise and mentor Enrolled Nurses, Staff Nurses and CHWs.
- Implement and monitor priority programmes as per Ideal Clinic standards.
- Reduce risk of litigation by applying correct clinical protocols.
- Contribute to achieving Ideal Clinic Realization Status.
