Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Radiographer in Nuclear Medicine.
- Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as a Radiographer in Nuclear Medicine.
- Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA in Radiography (Nuclear Medicine) in respect of RSA qualified employees.
- One-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Radiography (Nuclear Medicine) in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Radiography (Nuclear Medicine) in respect of RSA qualified employees.
- 11 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Radiography (Nuclear Medicine) in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Radiography (Nuclear Medicine) in respect of RSA qualified employees.

requirements of the job: Will be required to be on standby and work overtime
when required. Must be able to lift, move and assist patients when required.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Appropriate experience in a general department with knowledge of radiation protection, quality assurance and
equipment safety pertaining to Nuclear Medicine radiography. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge and skills required to
perform various Nuclear Medicine investigations. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
DUTIES : Be responsible for the provision of a patient-centred radiographic imaging service. Performing high-quality nuclear medicine imaging procedures using
advanced imaging equipment. Preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with clinical protocols and regulatory
requirements. Ensuring patient safety, comfort, and care by effectively communicating with and preparing patients for all procedures performed.
Conducting daily quality control checks on nuclear medicine equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Maintaining accurate patient
records, imaging data, and procedural documentation. Adhering to radiation protection principles, safety protocols, and all relevant legislative and
organizational requirements. Collaborating effectively with Nuclear Medicine
Physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care. Supporting the education and development of radiography
students, Community Service Radiographers, and other healthcare students, registrars, and interns through in-service training and mentorship. Should be
willing to participate in research initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities within the department.
