Requirements:
- Proven experience in laundry and linen management within a centralized laundry facility.
- Familiarity with operating industrial laundry equipment and managing large volumes of linen.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, understanding hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Proficiency in basic literacy and numeracy for documenting and managing laundry operations.
- Ability to mix chemical solutions accurately and track inventory.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and reporting issues.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle lifting heavy loads, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination and safe machinery operation.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques.
Duties:
- Textile Handling: Perform washing, drying, folding, and ironing of linen, clothing, and other textiles according to established standards.
- Chemical Handling Support: Assist in the preparation and mixing of chemicals required for laundry operations.
- Machine Operations: Load and unload washing machines and tumble dryers efficiently to ensure continuous operation.
- Sorting and Packing: Empty soiled linen bags, sort items, count quantities, seal, and stack linen bags in preparation for dispatch.
- Work Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to uphold hygiene and safety standards.
