Job Responsibilities

As a Security Officer in the Department of Transport, your key responsibilities will include a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining safety and security in the department’s premises.

Primary Responsibilities:

Access Control: Ensure that only authorized personnel enter the premises.
Visitor Escorting: Escort visitors and contractors while they are within the premises.
Baggage and Vehicle Inspections: Use metal detectors and X-ray machines to inspect vehicles and baggage entering the building.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Requirements:

ABET / Grade 11 Certificate or equivalent qualification.

Professional Qualifications:

Grade C PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) certification or an equivalent qualification.

Experience:

1–2 years of experience in security operations.

Additional Requirements:

No criminal record or any pending criminal charges.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work irregular hours, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, due to the nature of the job.
Candidates must be willing to undergo vetting and security screening.
