Requirements
- Qualifications and Experience National Senior Certificate plus Bachelors’ Degree in Geographic Information Systems or related qualification.
- Three (3) years post qualification experience within a Geographic Information Systems environment.
- Compulsory registration with the Professional and Technical Surveyors (PLATO) or South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) as a Geomatics Professional.
- A valid driver’s license, willing to travel extensively.
- Knowledge: Strong experience with two or more GIS platforms (ArcGIS platform, QGIS, ERDAS etc.) Must have knowledge of technical and strategic report writing and understanding of legal compliance.
- Experience in GeoDatabase design and Enterprise GIS Administration.
- Experience in Spatial and statistical analysis and development of information products like analytics dashboards, story maps etc.
- Experience in administration, licensing and application development on ArcGIS online and ArGIS Portal.
- A good understanding of government priorities and knowledge of the South African political landscape and socio-economic environment in which public service delivery occurs.
- Sound knowledge of the Government Immovable Asset Management Act (GIAMA) and other related legislation.
