    Senior Internal Auditor Position at the Department of Health

    The Department of Health is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join their team as Senior Internal Auditors. Under the Directorate of Internal Audit, this role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the department’s operations and accountability. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in assessing and enhancing internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies, and promoting effective governance practices.

    Position Details:

    Position Title: Senior Internal Auditor
    Reference Number: NDOH 38/2023 (X2 Posts)
    Location: Pretoria
    Salary: R359,517 per annum (plus competitive benefits)

    Requirements:

    Applicants should possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

    • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Accounting/Internal Audit or equivalent.
    • BCom Degree (NQF 7) in Accounting/Internal Audit (advantageous).
    • Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (added advantage).
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Internal Audit environment.
    • Familiarity with Public Service policies and procedures.
    • Proficiency in internal audit, risk management, accounting, and corporate governance.
    • Awareness of economic, political, social, and environmental factors impacting public service operations.
    • Benchmarking and networking skills to stay updated with auditing developments.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    Key Responsibilities:

    The Senior Internal Auditors will be responsible for the following:

    • Contributing to the development of strategic internal audit plans.
    • Evaluating departmental controls, determining their effectiveness and efficiency through internal audits according to the internal audit plan.
    • Collecting information and assisting in compiling reports for the accounting officer and audit committee.
    • Staying informed about new developments in the internal audit environment.
    • Managing risks associated with the department’s operations.

    Senior Internal Auditor (Global Fund) Position at the Department of Health

    The Department of Health is inviting applications for the position of Senior Internal Auditor (Global Fund) within the Directorate of Internal Audit. This opportunity involves playing a pivotal role in assessing and enhancing internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies, and promoting effective governance practices specifically related to the Global Fund initiatives. This is a contract position ending on 31 March 2025, with a re-advertisement for previous applicants.

    Position Details:

    Position Title: Senior Internal Auditor (Global Fund)
    Reference Number: NDOH 40/2023 (X2 Posts)
    Contract Duration: Ending 31 March 2025 (Re-advertisement for previous applicants)
    Location: Pretoria
    Salary: R359,517 per annum (plus 37% in lieu of benefits)

    Requirements:

    Applicants should meet the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

    • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Accounting/Internal Audit or equivalent.
    • BCom Degree (NQF 7) in Accounting/Internal Audit (advantageous).
    • Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (added advantage).
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Internal Audit environment.
    • Familiarity with Public Service policies and procedures.
    • Proficiency in internal audit, risk management, accounting, and corporate governance.

    • Collecting information and assisting in compiling reports for the accounting officer and audit committee, with a focus on Global Fund activities.
    • Keeping abreast of new developments in the internal audit environment, particularly in relation to Global Fund projects.
    • Managing risks associated with the department’s Global Fund operations.

    ICT Service Support Technician Position at the Department of Health

    The Department of Health is seeking qualified individuals to fill the role of ICT Service Support Technician within the Directorate of Information Communication Technology. This vital role entails providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ICT systems and equipment, ensuring seamless operations and efficient user experiences across the department.

    Position Details:

    Position Title: ICT Service Support Technician
    Reference Number: NDOH 39/2023
    Location: Pretoria
    Salary: R241,485 per annum (plus competitive benefits)

    Requirements: Applicants should possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

    • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Information Technology as recognised by SAQA.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an Information Technology environment.
    • Proficiency in Novell and Microsoft environments, LAN (Local Area Network), ICT devices and peripheral installation, maintenance, and support.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and provide support for ICT LAN connections, as well as ICT client, customer, and visitor interactions.
    • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals such as servers, monitors, printers, and modems.
    • Familiarity with procedures and processes for installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing applicable software, hardware, and peripherals.
    • Understanding of the OSI model and experience in monitoring LAN and WAN networks.
    • Strong communication (verbal and written), telephone etiquette, interpersonal, technical, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills (MS Office package).
    Key Responsibilities:

    The ICT Service Support Technician will be responsible for the following:

    • Providing desktop support and troubleshooting for ICT-related issues.
    • Addressing calls (incidents/problems/service requests) logged with the ICT helpdesk in accordance with ICT Service Standards.
    • Administering and managing logged calls, updating them on the system, and escalating when necessary.
    • Supporting ICT projects and participating in software upgrades and rollouts across LAN-connected devices.
    • Collaborating with IT service providers and coordinating equipment servicing when required.
    • Managing ICT-related risks and contributing to audits.
    • Ensuring antivirus software is operational and updated daily on all computers.
