    The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Department of Sport, Arts & Culture is inviting unemployed individuals to apply for various Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) vacancies for the 2025 cycle. This initiative aims to provide temporary job opportunities for individuals residing within KZN.


    Below is a detailed list of all available positions, their requirements, and application details.

    Available Kwa-Zulu Natal Department of Sport, Art & Culture Vacancies

    1. Sport, Art & Culture Mentors

    • Monthly Stipend: R4,000
    • Number of Posts: 22 per district
    • Workstations:
      • Amajuba
      • Umzinyathi
      • Uthukela
      • Ethekwini South
      • Ethekwini North
      • Ilembe
      • Harry Gwala
      • Ugu
      • Umgungundlovu
      • King Cetshwayo
      • Umkhanyakude
      • Zululand

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 plus relevant qualification
    • Must reside within the advertised job location
    • Must be presently unemployed

    Skills Required:

    • Communication skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Knowledge of administrative duties
    • Numerical and literacy skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitoring the progress of athletics and artists
    • Collecting database information for athletes and artists at the ward level
    • Attending Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) War room meetings

    2. Sport & Recreation Coordinators

    • Monthly Stipend: R2,700
    • Number of Posts: Varies per district
    • Workstations:
      • Amajuba (26 posts)
      • Umzinyathi (27 posts)
      • Uthukela (31 posts)
      • Ethekwini Metro (44 posts)
      • Ilembe (27 posts)
      • Harry Gwala (31 posts)
      • Ugu (35 posts)
      • Umgungundlovu (40 posts)
      • King Cetshwayo (35 posts)
      • Umkhanyakude (31 posts)
      • Zululand (31 posts)

    Requirements:

    • Grade 11 or 12
    • Must reside within the advertised location
    • Must be presently unemployed
    • Must be involved in sport activities

    Skills Required:

    • Knowledge of different codes of sport
    • Physical fitness knowledge or training
    • Awareness of local community sport and recreation structures

    Responsibilities:

    • Promoting sport and recreation activities at the ward level

    3. Sport Assistant

    • Monthly Stipend: R8,500
    • Number of Posts: 17
    • Workstation: Head Office

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 plus relevant qualification
    • Must reside within the advertised location
    • Must be presently unemployed

    Skills Required:

    • Communication skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Knowledge of administrative duties
    • Numerical and literacy skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Promoting sport activities
    • Coordinating sport & recreation programmes

    4. Administrative Assistants – Head Office

    • Monthly Stipend: R8,500
    • Number of Posts: 37
    • Workstation: Head Office

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 plus relevant qualification
    • Must reside within the advertised location
    • Must be presently unemployed

    Skills Required:

    • Communication skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Knowledge of administrative duties
    • Numerical and literacy skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Providing administrative services in various directorates of the department

    5. Data Capturers – Head Office

    • Monthly Stipend: R8,500
    • Number of Posts: 6
    • Workstation: Head Office

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 plus relevant qualification
    • Must reside within the advertised location
    • Must be presently unemployed

    Skills Required:

    • Communication skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Knowledge of administrative duties
    • Numerical and literacy skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Capturing data for EPWP programmes in the department

    6. General Worker – Head Office

    • Monthly Stipend: R3,000
    • Number of Posts: 1
    • Workstation: Head Office

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12

    Skills Required:

    • Good communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Teamwork

    Responsibilities:

    • Providing general assistance services
    • Maintaining a clean work environment

    Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 form, which can be obtained from any public service department or downloaded from the official website:

    • Indicate the reference number and ward number where the applicant resides.
    • Applications must be accompanied by a comprehensive curriculum vitae (CV).
    • Faxed applications will NOT be considered.
    • Do not send applications via registered mail.
    • Non-compliant applications will be disqualified.
    • A driver’s license will be an added advantage for some positions.
