    Requirements

    • Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KPA’s) of the post.
    • Experience: Appropriate experience in Finance Department.
    • Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to rotate with the Finance Section and relieve colleagues.
    • Competencies (knowledge/skills): Strong sense of confidentiality and trustworthiness.
    • Good written and communication skills.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email).
    • Relevant knowledge, skills, and experience in processes, procedures, prescripts and legislative framework, PFMA, NTR and PTI, and the Accounting Officer’s System of the Department of Health, including delegations.
    • Knowledge and experience of LOGIS and BAS.
    • In-depth knowledge of SCOA codes and reports on LOGIS and BAS.
    • Knowledge and experience in Supplier Reconciliation.
    • Working knowledge of ledger accounts and debt.
    • Ability to analyse and provide solutions to problems.
    • Good interpersonal and organisational skills.

    Duties

    • Provide a financial administrative service and overall management of activities within the office.
    • Effectively and efficiently monitored accounts for the department.
    • Render an effective and efficient Sundry Creditors payment function.
    • Render an effective capturing and pre-authorisation of payments on the Logis system.
    • Maintain and capture inter-departmental claims.
    • Capture credit notes and disallowances.
    • Check and verify payment segments as listed in the SCOA list.
    • IFS &
    • AFS Financial Reporting.
    • Support to State Accountant.
