Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience: Appropriate driving experience.
  • Inherent requirement of the job: Valid code (B/EB) driver’s licence.
  • Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • The ability to work independently and be accountable and responsible with good interpersonal skills.
  • Be physically fit and capable of performing duties that require physical exertion.
  • Physical fit to perform transportation duties.
  • Knowledge of Transport Regulations and Circular no 4 of 2000.
  • Knowledge of routine, maintenance, Inspections for defects on vehicles and safe driving skills.

Duties

  • Ensure an efficient and effective transport service for Primary Health Care and Health Programs at Khayelitsha/Eastern Sub Structure Office.
  • Conduct routine inspecting of the GG vehicles and timely reporting of defects.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensure vehicles used are kept clean and tidy.
  • Execute transport duties in relation to a scheduled roster.
  • Ensure an effective daily transport administration duty is rendered and provide support to Supervisor.
