Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7).
- Experience: Appropriate experience in operating of high-volume switchboard.
- Inherent requirement of the job: Physically able to hear and speak clearly.
- Ability to work shifts, night shift, weekends and public holidays.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Appropriate knowledge and ability to operate a high-volume Switchboard and equipment, and a public address system effectively and efficiently Excellent listening skills and telephone etiquette Computer Literacy in Microsoft Packages (Word excel and Outlook.
Duties
- Manage switchboard & page staff over the Public Address system Effective communication handling (both internally and externally) of incoming and outgoing calls and answer telephone enquiries and delivering messages Handling of all telecommunication equipment and related task and ensuring that switchboard and telephone equipment is in working is in working order and report all faults to supervisor /relevant person.
- Maintain internal telephone directory Provided feedback on the operational running of the component and support supervisor by adhering to the code Conduct for the Public Service.
