The Mastercard Associate Consultant Intern should be available to start in 2024 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

    Making an Impact as an Associate Consultant Intern

    As an Associate Consultant Intern at Mastercard, you’ll work alongside talented colleagues to address complex strategic questions for some of the world’s most prominent brands. Your role will involve leveraging technology and data to gain a diverse range of industry exposure, including financial services, retail, restaurants, hospitality, and more.

    • Solve Challenging Problems: Collaborate with small teams to solve complex strategic issues for clients.
    • Engage in Personal Growth: Participate in volunteer activities and team-building experiences that foster personal and professional development.

The internship program focuses on the “Strategy & Transformation” track, where you’ll guide clients through strategic, tactical, operational, and transformational challenges. This includes topics like product development, marketing, loyalty, innovation, and more. You’ll apply problem-solving techniques to enhance overall performance and operations.

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate status with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and August 2025.
    • An outstanding academic track record.
    • A proven history of leadership in a work setting or through extracurricular activities.
    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with data analysis or querying tools (e.g., SQL, SAS, Excel, or Tableau) is a plus, especially for certain tracks.
    • The ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in both English and the local office language(s).
    • Citizenship Requirement: Applicants for this position must be South African citizens.
