Contract Duration: 36 Months
Salary: R376 413 per annum (Level 08), plus 37% in lieu of benefits

Requirements:

  • A recognized Agricultural Qualification with Animal Production/Science as a major (NQF Level 8).
  • At least two years of relevant experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Registration with SACNASP.
  • Knowledge of Public Service Regulations, PFMA, and Batho Pele principles.

Duties:

  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Agricultural Advisors.
  • Provide scientific and technical advice.
  • Support government-funded projects (CASP, PLAS, MESP/PKM).
  • Promote sustainable agricultural production.
  • Submit required administrative reports.

2. Agricultural Advisor: Crop Production (17 Posts)

Contract Duration: 36 Months
Salary: R376 413 per annum (Level 08), plus 37% in lieu of benefits

  • Minimum two years of experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Public Finance Management, Batho Pele principles, and agriculture-related policies.

Duties:

  • Provide technical support to organized agriculture stakeholders.
  • Offer guidance on government-funded projects (CASP, PLAS, etc.).
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Agricultural Advisors.
  • Compile and submit reports.

3. Agricultural Advisor: Extension & Advisory Services (2 Posts)

Contract Duration: 36 Months
Salary: R376 413 per annum (Level 08), plus 37% in lieu of benefits
Locations:

  • Head Office – Ref No: DARDLEA/2025/02/18
  • Gert Sibande District – Ref No: DARDLEA/2025/02/19

Requirements:

  • A recognized Agricultural Qualification with Agricultural Extension as a major (NQF Level 8).
  • Minimum two years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Registration with SACNASP.
  • Knowledge of Extension methodologies and ability to operate Microsoft Office.

Duties:

  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Agricultural Advisors.
  • Provide extension services and agricultural advice.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement agricultural projects.
  • Ensure sustainable production practices.
