The Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services is offering an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to join as Independent Correctional Centre Visitors (ICCVs) on a 36-month contract basis. As an ICCV, you will play a crucial role in promoting transparency, fairness, and adherence to principles within the correctional system.
Key Details:
Position: Independent Correctional Centre Visitor (ICCV)
Salary: R75 837 per annum (3/8th, Level 05), plus 37% in lieu of benefits
Contract Duration: 36 months
Locations: Various correctional centres across different regions
Requirements: Grade 12/Senior Certificate, computer literate, ability to work independently and as a team, knowledge of Batho Pele principles, communication skills (verbal and written), driver’s license (preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits and assess urgent matters
- Interview and consult with inmates and correctional facility officials regarding complaints and mandatory issues
- Receive and record complaints/requests in the database
- Create and manage case files, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Follow up on unresolved complaints
- Generate monthly reports and provide statistical analysis of complaints
- Address inquiries and engage with the community
- Carry out directives from supervisors and Regional Managers
