    List of Umgungundlovu Health District Vacancies

    1. Data Capturer

    • Salary: Based on government scales
    • Location: Umgungundlovu Health District

    Key Responsibilities

    • Data Management:
      • Timely and accurate data capturing into formats such as databases, tables, and spreadsheets.
      • Verify, combine, and rearrange data as needed.
      • Import/export data and ensure monthly/quarterly reporting on systems like WebDHIS.
      • Capture Antenatal HIV survey data and generate relevant reports.
    • Data Verification:
      • Analyze and verify the integrity of data by comparing previous reports.
      • Monitor WebDHIS data completeness and address discrepancies.
      • Correct inaccurate data and resolve missing information.
    • Support and Reporting:
      • Compile monthly/quarterly reports and distribute to managers.
      • Provide technical support for data systems to institutional managers.
      • Retrieve data and liaise with units for accurate data collection.
    • Data Security:
      • Perform regular backups, maintain records, and ensure data security.
      • Update statistics and delete unnecessary files as per protocols.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Knowledge of data systems (e.g., WebDHIS).
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to generate and analyze reports efficiently.

    2. Operational Manager Nursing (General Unit)

    • Salary: R520,560.00 per annum
    • Location: Umgungundlovu Health District

    Appointment Requirements

    • Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
    • Proof of work experience stamped and endorsed by previous employers (for shortlisted candidates).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Human Resources Management:
      • Analyze staffing needs and ensure optimal allocation.
      • Address grievances and labor relations issues.
      • Oversee training and development initiatives.
    • Financial and Resource Management:
      • Develop and manage budgets and business plans.
      • Monitor and report expenditures.
      • Advocate for necessary material resources.
    • Quality Nursing Care:
      • Develop and update nursing guidelines and standards.
      • Implement quality improvement plans and ensure adherence to the Nursing Act.
      • Supervise effective infection control and occupational safety measures.
    • Team Collaboration:
      • Work with multi-disciplinary teams for patient care improvement.
      • Conduct audits and assess client satisfaction.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong operational management and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in communication, report writing, and facilitation.
    • Knowledge of nursing statutes and patient rights.

    3. Peer Educator (x2 Posts)

    • Stipend: R4,448.00 per month
    • Location: Umgungundlovu Health District

    Appointment Requirements

    • Grade 12 Certificate.
    • Certified HIV counseling course (essential).
    • Experience in group facilitation and openness about HIV status is advantageous.
    • Fluency in English and IsiZulu.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Client Engagement:
      • Conduct group health talks on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and maternal services.
      • Facilitate youth clubs, young mothers’ groups, and parenting sessions.
    • Community Outreach:
      • Conduct mapping of services in the catchment area.
      • Participate in community awareness campaigns and household visits.
      • Educate families on health services and parenting skills.
    • Referral and Linkages:
      • Refer clients to social and healthcare services using referral slips.
      • Actively follow up on missed appointments and facilitate reintegration into care programs.
    • Administrative Duties:
      • Document services provided, maintain records, and submit reports.
      • Participate in training and mentorship programs.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong numeracy and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work with diverse groups and provide psychosocial support.
