    Purpose of the Job

    The primary role of the Clerk is to provide administrative support to an allocated team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. You will handle essential office tasks, assist in organizing meetings and events, and maintain records and reports.

    Key Responsibilities of the Clerk at Sasol

    As a Clerk at Sasol, your duties will include:

    Administrative Support

    • Handles inquiries and schedules appointments
    • Develops presentations and completes office support functions
    • Types and distributes meeting notes, routine correspondence, and reports
    • Prepares and types documents, letters, and reports
    • Organizes and stores paperwork, documents, and computer-based information

    Meeting and Event Coordination

    • Organizes and attends meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes
    • Books rooms and conference facilities
    • Arranges both in-house and external conference functions and events

    Travel & Accommodation Arrangements

    • Coordinates travel arrangements for employees
    • Liaises with colleagues and external contacts for travel bookings

    Data Management & Reporting

    • Captures data in a standardized format
    • Maintains electronic and hard copy filing systems
    • Reconciles and manipulates data for management reports

    Customer and Client Relations

    • Communicates with internal and external clients professionally
    • Greets and assists visitors, clients, callers, and staff

    General Office Administration

    • Orders and maintains stationery and office supplies
    • Monitors expenditures and keeps financial records
    • Distributes mail and retrieves/delivers files as needed
    • Photocopies and prints various documents

    Skills and Competencies Required

    To succeed in this role, Sasol is looking for candidates who have:

    • Excellent Communication Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external clients
    • Strong Planning and Organizational Skills – Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
    • Attention to Detail – Ensures accuracy in all administrative tasks
    • Accountability and Responsibility – Takes initiative and follows through on tasks
    • Office Administration Knowledge – Familiar with managing records, filing systems, and office supplies
    • Multi-tasking Ability – Can handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively

    Qualifications and Experience Needed

    To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education

    • National Senior Certificate (Matric) OR N3 qualification

    Experience

    • At least one year of relevant experience in an administrative or clerical role
