    1. Cashier/Clerk: Administration (EMPD23919)

    • Location: City of Ekurhuleni
    • Closing Date: March 24, 2025
    • Department: Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD)

    Remuneration:

    • Basic Salary: R 217,920.00 to R 298,932.00 per annum (plus benefits)

    Assignment Type: Permanent

    This position is perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in administrative tasks. The Cashier/Clerk: Administration role plays a key part in ensuring that clerical and financial processes are efficiently carried out.     Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • Computer Literacy
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar administrative or financial role

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Administrative Support: Perform clerical and financial administrative duties, ensuring that all tasks are completed promptly and accurately.
    • Document Verification: Verify all documents before and after processing to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Revenue Management: Ensure that all revenue collected is correctly accounted for.
    • Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to specified standards, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to minimize wastage and risks.
    • Security of Documents: Safeguard face value documents and floats by ensuring they are counted, recorded, and stored securely as legislated.

    2. Employee Relations Officer: ER Operations & Case Management (HRES19010)

    • Location: City of Ekurhuleni
    • Closing Date: March 24, 2025
    • Department: Human Resources Department

    Remuneration:

    • Basic Salary: R 443,508.00 to R 608,400.00 per annum (plus benefits)

    Assignment Type: Permanent

    This is an excellent role for experienced professionals in Labour Law or Labour Relations who are looking to make a significant impact in managing employee relations within a large municipal organization. The Employee Relations Officer is responsible for maintaining and promoting healthy industrial relations and ensuring compliance with labour legislation. If you have a strong background in handling employment disputes, disciplinary matters, and collective agreements, this position is ideal.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Law / Labour Relations, or a relevant equivalent (NQF Level 7)
    • 5 years of relevant experience in employee relations or labour law
    • A valid driver’s license

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate Consultative Structures: Facilitate all consultative structures within the Council to ensure effective communication between these structures and the Local Labour Forum (LLF).
    • Provide Technical Advice: Offer expert guidance on the interpretation and enforcement of labour legislation, collective agreements, policies, and procedures.
    • Disciplinary and Grievance Handling: Oversee disciplinary and grievance procedures within the Council, ensuring fairness and consistency.
    • Representation at Dispute Forums: Represent the employer in employment disputes at the South African Local Government Bargaining Council (SALGBC), Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), and Labour Court.
    • Promote Policy Adherence: Disseminate Council policies and procedures to employees to ensure compliance and awareness.
    • Maintain Labour Relations: Build and maintain positive relations with labour unions and other stakeholders to ensure a productive work environment.
    • Report and Monitor: Compile reports and maintain statistics on all labour relations activities to ensure sound governance.
